Attention to Detail

The bride and groom from this wedding live in Costa Rica so most of the planning was done by the mother of the groom who lives not too far from me. She had a vision and definitely knew what she wanted the end result to be. All of her hard work and attention to detail certainly showed when the day finally arrived. The results were gorgeous and everything she had hoped for. The wedding took place at the home of the grooms parents and luckily the weather was perfect!
All of the flowers were deep red and burnt orange. The bridal bouquet, shown below was made with black magic and leonidas roses and mango calla lilies with loops of lily grass.
The maid of honor bouquet was made with the same roses with a touch of red and orange orchids.
Instead of wearing corsages, mothers carried the two small nosegays below.
The father of the groom built a podium for the ceremony and spent months coaxing beautiful mandevilla vines to grow up the side posts. He even attached the fabric to the top himself the morning of the wedding! Such a beautiful setting. After all the hard work, I'm so glad it didn't rain!!
Beautiful place cards were inserted in vintage black wooden shutters.
Flowers were placed in various spots to fill in and add some color.
The photo / guest book table below was one of my favorite elements of the wedding. The large black and white photo in the center is the bride and groom with all other photos being wedding photos of present and previous generations on both sides. Rose petals were sprinkled all over the table.
The cake, made by Sweet Surrender Bakery of Ludlow, VT, looked and smelled delicious! Strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries were placed around each layer.
With birch trees and lights on the poles, hanging lanterns from the ceiling, centerpieces in place, the band stand ready for the band, the tent was almost ready!
Menus were placed at each place setting. Favors were packets of Vermont wildflower seeds and a chocolate truffle.
A few tiny maple leaf cutouts were scattered around each centerpiece to match the maple leaf cutout in the table number card.
Everything came together beautifully and I was glad to be a part of this special day!
