The bride on this September 25 wedding at the Hawk Inn & Resort, wore a beautiful white satin "40"s inspired" dress. She carried a bouquet made entirely of deep burgundy dahlia with black ostrich drabs and black ribbon wrapped stems.
Her attendants all wore black dress and carried bouquets of pure white dahlia with white feathers wrapped in white satin ribbon.
I dressed up the flower girl basket with some black ribbon and had to include a couple small white feathers! Burgundy and white petals were added to the basket just before the ceremony.
The groom wore a boutonniere of dark burgundy dahlia buds with a black feather, while the groomsmen all wore the white dahlia buds with feathers.
Mothers carried small nosegays of mixed dahlias, ornithogalum and seeded eucalyptus with burgundy wrapped stems. This is becoming much more popular than the traditional corsage.
Small tin pails filled with burgundy dahlia, amaranthus, eucalyptus and yes, a couple of feathers, were hung on the aisle chairs.
The birch arch was set up next to the river and decorated with grapevine and three arrangements.
Close up of the arrangement placed on top of the arch.
Simple centerpieces were made in three vases using one burgundy dahlia, one white dahlia and cymbidium orchids with angel vine.
